Summer in the Psalms Week 1: Psalm 34

Discussion Questions:

1) In what way is praising God a choice? If praising God is a choice, then what are we choosing between? We either praise God or do what?

2) How does one “taste” and “see” that the Lord is good (Psalm 34:8)? Can you share examples of times you have seen God’s goodness?

3) What does it mean to fear God? How can you take refuge in Him?

4) Take a look at Psalm 34:5, 7-10, 17, and 19. What can we learn about God’s provision for his people from these verses? Does this passage teach, for example, that Christians will never starve? How can we understand these verses in light of the fact that some seemingly righteous people may live the majority of their lives facing affliction?

5) How does Romans 8:1-4 help us understand Psalm 34:22?
