Philippians Week 11: Reasonable Faith, Unreasonable Peace
Sermon Discussion Questions:
1) What does Paul mean by “reasonableness” (or “gentleness”) in Philippians 4:5? How common is this attitude today?
2) Is it reasonable for Paul to tell Christians to not be anxious about anything? Why or why not?
3) In Philippians 4:6, Paul seems to contrast “being anxious” with prayer. Have you tried prayer as an intentional counter to anxiety? What have you found?
4) What do you think Paul means in Philippians 4:5 when he says, “the Lord is at hand”? How does an awareness of God’s nearness change one’s perspective on their circumstances and relationships?
5) What is the significance of “with thanksgiving” in Philippians 4:6?
