Philippians Week 12: Head and Hands
Sermon Discussion Questions:
Can you think of examples of the sort of things Paul says we ought to think about? Must they be “religious” things?
How much attention do you give to what you are thinking about? How important is this?
Do the contents of your thoughts seem to be something you choose, or something that happens to you? How do you feel about the idea of disciplining or policing or shepherding your thoughts?
What does the word “practice” mean in Philippians 4:9? What sort of things do you think Paul is exhorting Christians to “practice”?
Look again at Philippians 4:9. How confidently could you tell a newer believer to “practice whatever they see or hear” in your life? What do you need to adjust, with God’s help, to be that kind of example?
